Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare the poultry carcase delivery system for operation
   • Select and load computer program to suit product requirements
   • Control line start-up to meet production requirements
   • Identify bird drop requirements
   • Set system to meet production requirements
   • Identify and fit personal protective clothing and equipment as required by workplace safety procedures
   • Carry out pre-start checks according to workplace procedures
2. Monitor system operation
   • Enter new orders and set system parameters to meet requirements through the day
   • Adjust priorities to meet production and customer requirements
   • Monitor weight ranges and adjust system settings to meet customer orders
   • Identify variation in equipment operation and report maintenance requirements
   • Confirm that specifications are met
   • Identify, rectify or report out-of-specification product or process outcomes according to workplace requirements
3. Hand over system operation
   • Maintain workplace records in required format
   • Carry out handover according to workplace procedures
   • Ensure process operators are aware of system and related equipment status at completion of handover
4. Shut down the system
   • Identify and implement the appropriate shutdown procedure
   • Identify and report maintenance requirements according to workplace procedures
5. Contribute to continuous improvement of the system
   • Review system performance against output targets
   • Suggest opportunities for system improvements
   • Suggest improvements to operational procedures or processes
